Printing with Tetra Pak and my Sizzix big shot

For a while I’ve been planning a printing day and today was the day. Using the kind of packaging that juice cartons are made from I made some plates. It’s quite a simple process, which can even be done without a press, using the back of a spoon. As I have a die cutter I reckoned it would make a good press. My first print is probably my best one, perhaps because it’s so simple. I used watercolour paper, which is a good weight and is fine with being soaked.…

Playing with Punch Needle

I’ve finished my first punch needle project, and now I need to let my muscles recover. It’s surprising how hard work it can be. I’ve turned it into a cushion cover for a bolster cushion, which has been waiting for quite a while. My inspiration came from one of my doodles, which is vaguely inspired by pebbles in wet sand. Magazine Collage Fun

I have a folder full of images cut out of magazines, including some vintage National Geographics. As I’m taking part in @seam_collective’s September textiles love challenge I got them out in response to the prompt ‘play’. It was great fun messing around with different combinations.
