Trees without leaves – sketchbook pages

The latest sketchbook I’ve been working in from Wey Valley Workshop is ‘Trees without leaves’. I’ve had great fun with paper cutting to create layers of trees.

I painted three pages, grey, dark grey and black, then sketched on the back of each page before cutting them with a craft knife. I’ve shown both sides, so you get the plain white as well. My favourite is the black one, probably because it shows up so well.

Here they are with a blue sky, which helps the white side show up better.

I’ll be getting a new sketchbook on Thursday, so I can do something new. In the meantime I’m getting a bit obsessed with polymer clay, so there may be a post about that soon.
